More Food & Drink in Clinton Hill/Fort Greene

Will places ever stop opening and growing in Clinton Hill and Fort Greene? I hope not. It all serves to make the title of my book more relevant.  Amid the raids and closings of artist’s lofts, an 8 year-old local catching the first fish during a contest in Prospect Park and allegations of election tampering and police ball dropping, businesses are expanding and moving in.

Clinton Hill is now home to a Japanese restaurant and a French bakery. At 884 Fulton, corner of Waverly, there’s Wasabi 1, a Japanese restaurant with a red carpet at the entrance.  The one in the title tells me we can expect another location in the future. One block away, going downtown, at 903 Fulton you’ll find a home for your sweet tooth at Beny’s Delice, a patisserie, which also serves gourmet specialties.

Further up on the hill, is a new watering hole, Fulton Grand Bar, 441 Grand Avenue, between Putnam & Fulton; and a few blocks away Nero Doro, at Classon & Greene, now a has liquor license and later hours.

Fort Greene’s latest culinary entry, Dino, finds itself smack dab in the middle of the action that is DeKalb Avenue.  New York Magazine describes the fare as “rustic, Italian comfort food.” Housed at 222 DeKalb Avenue (Clermont/Vanderbilt), Dino also features alfresco dining and a large wine selection displayed as art.

Bon appetit et à votre santé!
