47% of respondents to our first survey have lived in the neighborhood for less than 5 years.  It’s definitely time for the 2nd edition.

In 2003, the response to Plenty was enthusiastic and interesting. Some were asking on publication day when the next edition would be coming, and comments ranged from “I didn’t know this place even existed,” to “I always wondered where that street started.”  Many people expressed happiness about having all of their community information in one place, and others liked the fact that Plenty, because of its size, was mobile.  I often chuckle when I think of those, who in no uncertain terms, informed us they didn’t need the book because they had lived in the neighborhood for a long time and knew where everything was located. I and my staff always found that interesting, and I still do, because as its creators, as well as long-time residents, we were constantly referring to its pages to order take-out, check store hours, find local web addresses, community organization meeting dates, and more.

So, as I prepare for those of you who welcome a great resource, I’m having a great time talking with new business owners, meeting new residents who are excited about the book and sharing the enthusiasm of those who’ve been waiting for the new edition since 2003.  Join us on Facebook and Twitter to become part of the conversation and excitement.
